Les girls les boys isn’t a gender neutral label. It’s a shareable label. Boy one day, or girl the next. It’s your decision.
We’re for all ages. Our namesake is a nostalgic nod to the playful, unprejudiced and inclusive attitude of youth. It’s the truest form of modern being: living in a friendly, open, and honest way. You’re allowed to change your mind, and be different things at the same time. Strength and vulnerability, hard and soft. It’s those contradictions that make us human. They are the nuances that make people and friendships exciting.
Most of all, we design items we want to wear, despite not traditionally being supposed to. Our design is for everyone, without alienating anyone. It’s a thin line to tow, which we constantly question ourselves when creating. From ‘mens’ boxers to ‘womens’ bodysuits.
We find strength in being fluid about which gender you shop within, and the questioning of gender boundaries. This is where mindsets begin to change and self-assured individuality blossoms. Each of our gender categories exists with the other, blending and inviting girls and boys with open hearts across the divide.
Whether you shop les girls or les boys, they are, in essence, the same thing. We don’t treat them as different categories or concepts. These are spectrums to help inform your shopping experience.
We recognise the need for feminine and masculine selections when browsing based on your tastes and preferred clothing fit. Anatomically, there has to be pieces that we design for female or male bodied people. We are working on our sizing, which dictates design challenges for us as we move around size ranges.
Over at les boys, you’ll see pieces for anyone who chooses to identify, or shop, on the masculine spectrum, wishing to present themselves in a less feminine way. We play with masculine notions by using soft colours, slinkier luxe fabrics - always pushing with contradiction. With les girls, it’s the same in reverse. We’ve made lace strong with geometric patterns and unconventional colours, freeing it from a traditionally frilly, soft, and delicate character.
